KERNERSVILLE - Jerry Odell Pyrtle, 73, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at his home. Jerry was born on August 10, 1943 in Forsyth County to the late Odell and Mozelle Slate Pyrtle. Jerry was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served in Germany. He was self-employed as a Precision Machinist / Tool Maker for over 20 years. He developed a love for music, especially classic country, and played the pedal steel guitar professionally for 15 years in Atlanta, Pensacola and Nashville. His favorite vocalists were Ray Price, Buck Owens, Johnny Bush and Gene Watson. Jerry also enjoyed golf and played the game most of his life......sometimes breaking 90. He enjoyed the game of baseball and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team.....if they were winning.
Surviving are his wife, the love of his life, Dorothy Little Pyrtle; his daughter, Teresa Moore (husband, Tony); two stepchildren, Vikki Caudle Brandstetter (husband, Barry) and Mike Daniel Caudle; three grandchildren, Logan Vainwright, Lucas Moore and Sam Brandstetter.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
