Jerry Guy Wood

Mr. Jerry Guy Wood, age 70 of Advance, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Jerry was born June 6, 1944 in Norfolk, VA. He was the son of the late Laura Smith Sides. Jerry had retired from Piedmont Concrete Company with 29 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Gail Thomasson Wood, a sister, Jean Jeffries, one niece, Tonya Hutchins (Bill), one great niece, Alex Hutchins and one great nephew, Tyler Hutchins. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
