Mr. Jesse David Hayes, 94, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 18, at Forsyth Medical Center. Jesse was born on July 23, 1919 in Surry County to the late Jim and Nora Simmons Hayes. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Clemmons. Jesse served our country in the United States Army, during World War II, and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company. He was preceded in death by wife Elizabeth Cline Hayes; three brothers; and two sisters. Jesse is survived by Son Leonard Hayes (Terri) of Clemmons, NC; two daughters Nora Jean Keaton (Martin) of Davie County and Rebecca Taylor of Greensboro, NC; a sister Edna Cassidy of Davie County; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Clemmons, with Rev. Arnold Gosnell officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday, January 20, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.
