Jimmie Burchette

Jimmie Burchette, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Mr. Burchette was born on March 2, 1944.

Jimmie was a longtime member of Crestwood Baptist Church and was very active until his declining health prevented him from continuing. Mr. Burchette worked in the WS/FCS system for several years and was often referred to as “Coach.” He also served briefly as the custodian of Crestwood Baptist Church.

Mr. Burchette was preceded in death by most, if not all, of his biological family. However, he leaves behind numerous friends and a large church family who cared deeply for him. Reverend Benjamin Webb and Harold & Libby Cox assumed the responsibility for his care during the last few years of his life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Crestwood Baptist Church, 530 Motor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105, with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt and Rev. Benjamin Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Crestwood Baptist Church. Those who cared for Jimmie would like to thank the staff at Cedar Hills Nursing Center in Clemmons, Forsyth Medical Center, and Trellis of Winston-Salem.
