Jimmie Donald Ring

Mr. Jimmie Donald Ring of Winston-Salem, 76, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Russell County, VA on June 14, 1934 to the late Robert Walter and Reda Nash Ring. He was a member of Bethabara Moravian Church. Mr. Ring retired from the City of Winston-Salem and was a Mason for 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching sports. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Carlyle Ring, Delmer Goff, Elmer Goff, and Bobby Ring, and a sister, Joyce Kiser. Surviving are a special friend, Gayle Reid of Winston-Salem; sisters, Eva ""Sister"" Jarrett of Reidsville, Pauline Addington of Winston-Salem, Dorothy Sim and husband John of Winston-Salem, Kate Holbrook of Winston-Salem, Erma Ogburn and husband Allen of Winston-Salem, Betty Kirby and husband Ken of Walnut Cove, Frances Wills and husband Ken of Walnut Cove, and Deborah Presnell and husband Jimmy of Pinnacle; sister-in-law, Carol Ring of Winston-Salem; also surviving are three brothers, Bill Ring of Castlewood, VA, Jessee Ring and wife Connie of Winston-Salem, and Ray Ring and wife Margret of Walnut Cove and his caretakers, Jeannie Greer and Tammy Wallace. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 24, 2011 at Bethabara Moravian Church with Rev. Tripp May officiating. Burial will follow at the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
