Jimmy Dezarn

Mr. Jimmy Gray Dezarn, 83, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born in Forsyth County on April 29, 1935 to the late Della Whitaker Dezarn and Silas Hillred Dezarn.  Mr. Dezarn was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church and currently an active member of Pilot View United Methodist Church in Pinnacle.  He was a member of Western Electric’s Pioneer Club and the Stanleyville Civic Club.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Dezarn was preceded in death by three brothers: Wayne, Travis, and Jesse; and two sisters, Norma and Jewel.  He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rogers Dezarn; three sons: Randy Dezarn (Mandy), Keith Dezarn (Tammy), and Todd Dezarn (Laura); two step-children, Shannon Goins (Chris) and Larry Blakely, Jr. (Pam); three grandchildren: Patrick Dezarn, Amanda Dezarn, and Hannah Dezarn; three step-grandchildren, Amanda Castille, Justin Mcintyre, and Larry Blakley, III; and numerous nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 23, at Pilot View United Methodist Church with Pastor Daniel Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, October 22, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Stroke Foundation, 6405 Metcalf, Suite 214, Overland Park, KS 66202 or to American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
