Jimmy David Rousey

Mr. Jimmy David Rousey, 74, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1951, in Elberton, Georgia, to the late William and Kathryn Rousey. Jimmy was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for over 45 years, where he taught the “Special” adult Sunday School Class for many of those years. He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of almost 46 years, Doris Spainhour Rousey; daughter, Kathryn Carpenter (Anthony); son, David Rousey; two brothers, Charles Rousey (Hazel), and Tommy Rousey (Vivian); a sister, Virginia Dye; as well as two granddaughters, Kaylee Carpenter and Kelsey Carpenter.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, with Bro. Frank Shumate and Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
