Jo Ann Hauser, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 26, 2026, in Bermuda Run, NC. She was born on February 17, 1938, in King, NC to the late Ray and Annie James Hampton. Jo Ann was a proud graduate of King High School. Upon graduation, she embarked on a fulfilling career with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, where she served faithfully until her retirement. In her free time, Jo Ann enjoyed singing with her late husband, Kenneth Hauser. Their harmonious voices often filled their home and hearts of loved ones with joy. This shared hobby was a testament to their love and companionship, a bond that remained strong throughout their lives. Jo Ann was a proud member of the Center Grove Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment to her community were evident. Jo Ann is survived by her son, Gray Hauser and wife Megan, daughter Penny Bell and husband Owen. Her memory will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Matt Hauser and wife Abbi, Katie Robertson and husband Nick, Morgan Rackley and husband Sandy, Jake Hauser, and Nathan Bell and fiancé Emma. Her great-grandchildren, Ayden Hauser and Ensley Rackley, will remember their great-grandmother as a beacon of love and warmth. Jo Ann was a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering faith. She had a heart full of love for her family, and her legacy of love and compassion continues to live on through them. Her absence leaves a void that will never be filled, but her spirit continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A funeral service to honor Jo Ann’s life will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday February 27, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel, with Pastor Mitch Monroe officiating. The burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
