Mrs. Jo Tuttle Bell passed away peacefully on February 10, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Jo was born in Forsyth County June 30, 1934 to the late Norman Hobert Tuttle and Clarice Doub Tuttle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: N.H. Tuttle, Jr., Kenneth Tuttle, Billy Tuttle, Johnny Tuttle, Mildred Smith, Rebecca Joyce, and Betty Weber. She leaves behind her husband, James William Bell, of 63 years; two sons, Wayne Bell (Phyllis) and Randy Bell; sister, Barbara Westmoreland; two grandchildren, Josh Bell (Erin) and Jamie Price (Wesley); five great-grandchildren, Novalee, James, Evey, Jolene, and Judah; sister-in-law, Fay Stewart; a special niece, Amy Jo Westmoreland, plus several nieces and nephews. She had a love of sports all her life. She played basketball four years at her alma mater where she was voted “All County” and “All Northwest” in basketball and went on to play semi-pro basketball with Hanes Hosiery after graduating from Old Richmond School. In addition, she was an avid bowler. She had a passion for gardening and enjoyed sharing her bountiful harvest with friends and loved ones. She was a member of Jefferson Christian Church and an active member of her Sunday School Class if her health permitted. She was a very devoted and kind-hearted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will truly be missed by all who loved her. The family will be having a private celebration of life to honor the life of Jo Tuttle Bell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC, 27103, Attn: Finance.
