Joan KillKelley Beam

Mrs. Joan Dorothy KillKelley Beam, age 78, passed away at home Friday, March 7, 2014. She was born September 5, 1935 in Concord, New Hampshire to the late James and Margaret KillKelley. Mrs. Beam was a graduate of Keene State Teachers College and received her Master's degree in food science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She taught junior high before marrying, and later taught nursery school and worked as a tax preparer. She enjoyed golf, tennis, mahjong and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Beam of Winston-Salem, NC; two sons, Kevin Beam and wife Kathleen of Westwood, MA, and Eric Beam and wife Mary Johns of Houston, TX; one daughter, Sara Beam of New York City; three grandchildren, Katherine, Daniel and John Beam and three brothers, Robert KillKelley and wife Victorine, David KillKelley and wife Lucille, Richard KillKelley and wife Doreen and ten nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church by Father Stephen Hoyt. The family will receive friends following the service.
