Joan Adams Coe

Joan Adams Coe of Bridgewater Drive, Advance, graduated to Heaven on Friday, June 2, 2017 at her home. She was born December 26, 1936 to Mr. & Mrs. John Sneed Adams in Asheville NC. Joan's early life was filled with travel as her father was re-assigned all over this country by the Army Air Corp and later the US Air Force. After she married her husband of 34 years, his employment with Eastern Airlines moved the family around also. Joan moved to Advance over 25 years ago after her husband, Richard C. Coe went to be with the Lord. She loved the proper application of the English language and the true meaning of words. She loved the theatre and the stories told in plays and musicals. She loved her rescue dog Annie, and her friends. She deeply loved her family and church family, but most of all she loved Jesus. Joan was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, and her son Richard C. Coe, Jr. in 2010. Her daughter and son-in-law Patty and Zero Smith of Farmington cherish her memory, along with two nieces and a nephew in MA and many special friends. A celebration of Joan's life will be Saturday June 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Cornerstone Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Joan's memory to Cornerstone Christian Church, St. Jude's Research Hospital, Child Fund International, Winston-Salem Rescue Mission or Hospice of Davie County would be appreciated.
