Joan Morgan Price

Joan Morgan Price, 97 years old, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Winston-Salem, NC at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. She was the widow of Frank M. Price. They shared 56 years of marriage together.

Born in Forsyth County, NC December 28, 1928. She was the daughter of Haden F. Morgan and Lillie Rae Davis Morgan. She owned and operated Frank’s Suburbanite furniture and appliance store with her husband for 40 years. She was also a partner in B&R Sand Co. and assisted in the operation of other businesses as well.

She was a lifelong member of Mayodan Moravian Church. She served on the Board of Elders and the Board of Trustees, off and on, for many years and was an active member of the Women’s Fellowship. She had an active role in the Southern Provence of the Moravian Church starting with her role in the founding of Laurel Ridge Moravian Camp and Conference Center to serving on many provincial boards through the years.

She is survived by her daughter Rae P. Fox (Tom Fox), granddaughter Dawn Harrison Slater (Sam Slater), and great-granddaughter Isabella Slater. She was predeceased by her bother Raymond F. Morgan, sister Betty M. Ebert, and great-grandson Robert “Robbie” Harrison.

The graveside service will be held 2:00PM June 13, 2026, at Mayodan Moravian Graveyard, 334 S. 4th Ave., Mayodan, NC 27027. A reception will follow immediately after at Mayodan Moravian Church fellowship hall, 104 S. 3rd Ave., Mayodan, NC 27027.
