Joan Martin Turner

KING – Mrs. Joan Martin Turner, 80, died Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Turner was a native of Towson, Maryland, born November 24, 1945, to the late Arthur and Katie Martin. She retired from the State of Maryland after serving many years as a parole officer. Mrs. Turner was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Rural Hall, and was active in all aspects of church affairs. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard K. Turner, of the home; a daughter, Katie Turner, of Kentucky; a son, Nicholas Turner, of Ohio; three grandchildren, Fay, Emma and Ethan; and a brother, David Martin, of Colorado. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia M. Hill. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Kevin Powers officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at Nazareth Lutheran Church. Memorials be made to Nazareth Lutheran Church, 460 Bethania-Rural Hall Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
