Joan 'Joann' Marie Law Wood

Mrs. Joan ""Joann"" Marie Law Wood of Germanton, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. She was born in Bassett, VA to Harry A. and Hattie K. Law. Joann was married to R. Wayne Wood since 1967. She attended Patrick Henry College and graduated from the former MacFarland School of Floristry. She was a skilled floral designer. She was vice president of Best Machine and Tool Company. Joann loved the outdoors, animals, and was an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol L. Bowling; brothers, William L. Law and James Law. Surviving is her husband of the home, one sister, Bernice L. Joyce of Gretna, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Todd Lusk and Mr. Scot Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassatt, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
