JoAnn Huff Motsinger passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at Trinity Glen Skilled Nursing Facility.
Born on April 21, 1939, to Romie and Lillian Huff, JoAnn lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those around her. She was known for her warm hospitality, always ready to entertain friends and family. A gifted baker, JoAnn’s coconut cakes were legendary, eagerly anticipated and lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure to enjoy them.
JoAnn had a passion for outdoors, especially fishing, her favorite pastime. She made many cherished trips to Morehead City, spending countless hours surf fishing along the coast. She also found joy in gardening and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by nature. JoAnn was a packer for Taylor Brothers Tobacco Company.
JoAnn was a devoted member of Victory on the Frontline Church in Lexington, where she actively participated in church life and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Virgil “Blinkey” Motsinger; daughter, Cathy Cope Harper; and brothers, Jerry Huff, and Jimmie Huff.
Left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Ronnie Huff (Linda) and Randy Huff (Janet); her beloved grandson, William “Bill” Harper; and son- in-law, Tim Harper. There are also many nieces and nephews that will cherish her memory forever.
JoAnn's legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her church, and her community.
