Jo Ann Sides

Mrs. Jo Ann Pope Sides, 82, of Winston-Salem passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at her residence. She was born on August 3, 1936 in Forsyth County to Hugh and Sylvia Fulp Pope. Mrs. Sides graduated from Glenn High School and worked at Western Electric for a short period. She married Floyd “Pete” Sides on June 6, 1959. Mrs. Sides was a member of Hope Moravian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Reba Grubbs Pope; brother, Lawrence Edward Pope. Surviving are her husband, Floyd “Pete” Sides of the home; daughter, Scarlet Stone and husband Mark; son, Rodney Sides and wife Kathy; seven grandchildren; Josh Boyle and wife Jennifer, Alex Stone, Ashelynn Stone, Nate Stone, Matthew Sides, Merideth Sides, and Eli Sides; two great grandchildren; Easton Boyle and Wilder Boyle. A private service will be held for Mrs. Sides. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
