JoAnn Van Nort

JoAnn Van Nort passed away at 2:30 pm on Sunday, May 21st.  JoAnn was ready to be with her Bill again.  She is survived by her children; Lisa Sheehan, Bruce Van Nort and Sandra Van Nort.  Three grandchildren, Jillian, Andrew and Christopher.  Four great grandchildren Sienna, Liliana, Wally and Alex.

JoAnn was born March 9th, 1939 in Louisville, KY to parents Raymond Busch and Mary Haag.

What is most important to share about JoAnn’s life is what her children thought of her.  Lisa remembers her mom as the ultimate hostess and made everyone feel special by cooking a delicious meal from her collection of cookbooks which has been inspired in all of her kids.   When Lisa would visit her, Mom would always say “have I told you lately that I love you?”  That always brightened her day.  Bruce would say Mom was a Southern belle at heart.  She was stubborn, loving and caring and a proud momma of her kids.  He will miss singing Barbara Streisand with her.  You are with your Bill.  Sandra would tell you her mom was her best friend.  They shared a love for many of the same things and enjoyed being silly together.  Two peas in a pod.  Josie, Momma, Mom you are loved more than you could ever know.

Please give Dad a big hug for us.  We miss you both greatly!

The family will be celebrating JoAnn in a private ceremony in Charleston, SC where Bill and JoAnn lived for 30+ years.  They loved Charleston dearly as it brought many wonderful friends into their lives.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Meals on Wheels or volunteer at Senior Living locations.
