Joanna E. Blair

Mrs. Joanna E. Blair, 72, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2016 surrounded by her beloved family.

Joanna was born June 5, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Ira and Joanna Jones. She was a writer who had many articles published over the years and won several awards. She loved to cook and could often be found in the kitchen. She was a loyal wife, caring sister, dedicated mother, proud grandmother, joyous great-grandmother and a reliable friend. She will be deeply missed. Joanna was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Jones.

Joanna is survived by her husband of 35 years, William ""Bill"" Blair; children, Lisa Barnard and husband Tony of Winston-Salem, Ernie Dunn of California, Ira Dunn of California, and Patrick Dunn and wife Robin of Charlotte; grandchildren, Renee Faw, Rachelle Anderson and husband Keith, Andrew Dunn, Jacob Dunn, Samuel Dunn, and Mary Stuart Dunn; great-grandchildren, Autumn, John Bradley, and Blair; sister, Dorothy Basile and husband Bill; and brothers, Ira Jones, Glenn Jones and wife Margaret, and David Jones.

A celebration of Joanna's life was held Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11 am at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston-Salem.
