Jocelyn Meredith Hughes Lemley, 85, of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away peacefully, Monday, April 7, 2025. She was born March 29,1940, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Johnnie and Adeline Niedert Hughes. Mrs. Lemley was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Lemley. Surviving are her daughter, Paige Collins Lee (Jason); two grandchildren, Jacob and Collin Lee of Clemmons, North Carolina; and her sister, Sandra (Hughes) Derickson of Fenton, Missouri. Jocelyn’s hands were rarely still. She was a sewer and a quilter whose creations warmed the hearts and homes of every recipient. As adventurous soles, Jocelyn and her husband together discovered their love for travel embarking on numerous road trips across the country and cruises around the world. Jocelyn exemplified her deep Christian faith throughout her life. She served in countless compacities as her fellow congregants will fondly remember her joyful spirit and tireless commitment to serving others. As a cancer survivor she kept her faith in Jesus our Lord and Savior. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at her final resting place located next to James at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to First Christian Church of Clemmons, 6131 Frye Bridge Road, Clemmons, North Carolina 27012, in loving memory of Jocelyn Lemley.
