Joe Carter

Mr. Joe Frank Carter, 82, of King, passed away in the comfort of his loved ones Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born January 22, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late Hix Carter and Pauline Bowles Carter. Mr. Carter graduated high school from Georgia Christian Institute and later graduated college from Abilene Christian University. He was a proud veteran whom served his country in the Marine Corps. Preceding him in death are his parents and a son, Casey Carter. Surviving are: his wife, Rosemary Carter; a son, Lee Carter (Jane); and two grandchildren: Kristene and Daniel. A memorial service will be conducted in his honor 6:00 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, officiated by Minister Jim Coviello. The family will receive friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to either South Fork Church of Christ, 205 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, or South Stokes Church of Christ, 1223 Old Hwy 52 S, King, NC 27021.
