Joe Spencer Dean

Joe Spencer Dean, 89, passed away at Clemmons Village on November 13, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1934, to Josie Boone Dean and Carl Proctor Dean in Wendell, NC. Joe earned a B.A. from Louisburg College and retired from F.W. Woolworth’s with 37 years of dedicated service. For many years he was an active member of Parkway Chapel, ministering in numerous leadership roles. He enjoyed studying the Bible and will be remembered as a man who loved the Lord and loved people. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Boone Dean. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Dean; daughter, Pam Dean Gambill (Arnold); grandchildren, Sydney Gambill Olson (Joe), Jared Gambill, and Corey Gambill; a sister, Janet Sasnett; an extended family and many friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 17, 2023, at Parklawn Memorial Park with Pastor Rod Sharp officiating.
