Joe Edward Stigall, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 26, 1945, to the late Benford and Ruth Weisner Stigall. Joe was a jack of all trades. He was known for being able to fix just about anything and had a wide range of knowledge as well. Joe was generous and humorous- he always had a way of making those around him laugh. He was a proud US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Lowry as a radar technician. In his free time, Joe enjoyed being outdoors, particularly fishing. Joe was enamored by his loving wife of 57 years, Brenda. They met through a mutual friend in Oak Ridge and have been nearly inseparable since. Above all, Joe knew the Lord. He was devoted to the Lord and the word of the Bible and lived his life in accordance with it. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Stigall, Jack Stigall, Kelly Stigall, and Katherine Stigall.
Left to cherish his memory are the apple of his eye, his wife, Brenda Cobbler Stigall; a sister, Alma Winfree; sister-in-law, Lily Stigall; a niece, Sandy Highfill; a nephew, Jeff Winfree; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to Jim and Shirley, Virginia, and to Terry for all their continued love and support.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Mike Bullis officiating.
