Joe Williams, Jr.

Joe "Joey" Gray Williams, Jr., 55, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Joey was born in Surry County on February 3, 1962 to Joe Williams and Colleen Hall. He graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1980. Joey was of the Baptist faith and was avid animal lover. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and watching football. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Surviving family includes: his mother, Colleen Hayworth; father, Joe Williams, Sr.; his son, Chris Burgess; brother, Scott Williams; his loving companion, Sarah Simmons; a host of friends and extended family; and his favorite pet, Opie. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating.
