John Joseph "Joe" Chucci Jr., age 83, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 7:00 am.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Jill Black Chucci, of 62 years of marriage; his sons, John G. Chucci and Gary Ellis; Gary's wife, Tonya, and his children, Addison and Grayson. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Chucci; and his sister, Medina Cloninger.
Joe was born in Cumberland County, N.C., at the Fort Bragg military base. Joe is the son of John Joseph Chucci and Margaret McClaud. Joe has a large, loving family, which includes Richard Chucci (wife Jean), Henry Chucci (wife Britt), Keneth McCloud, Lynn Wiggins (husband Don), and brother-in-law Gerry Cloninger.
Joe was fortunate to have a God-centered, full life with an amazing family and a successful career in engineering. Joe lived a life of dedication to God and family. His wife, Jill, and he forged a happy life full of love, laughter, and joy. Joe was a caring, engaged father and husband. As a young father, Joe was a Scout Master, coached baseball, supported BMX racing, and swim team for his sons. Together with his wife, Jill, they raised their boys, supporting, nurturing, and molding them into successful men. Joe had a kind heart, a rather quick, funny wit, and a true sense of purpose for his life. Joe strived to live a life focused on family and God. Joe was always there with an open heart, timely advice, and encouragement. He was the kind of man who would eagerly help his family, his church, and his fellow man. In his passing, he will leave a void in the lives of all who knew him in this world.
The family will receive guests at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Mt. Carmel Global Methodist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 am, officiated by Rev.
