John Simon Guttenberger

John Simon Guttenberger, 103, passed away at his home on November 27, 2013. John was born February 24, 1910 to Benedict and Barbara Reisinger Guttenberger in Munich, Germany. He arrived in the US in 1929 and served in WWII in the European Theater for 3 ½ years. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Rudelt Guttenberger; son, John B. Guttenberger and his wife, Eleanor of Dearborn, Michigan and their children, Amy and Thomas; daughter, Ann Guttenberger Sugg and her husband, Dr. N. Keith Sugg of Winston-Salem, and their children, Philip, David, Elizabeth, and Alexander. He is also survived by a sister, Anna Haf of Garden City, NY. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Meghan McSwaim officiating.
