John Herbison

Kernersville – Mr. John “Johnny” William Herbison, 70, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on February 13, 1952, in Henry County, VA to Peter Joseph and Dorothy Willis Herbison. Johnny enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. He was a sports car enthusiast and especially had an interest in Ford Mustangs. Johnny loved playing with his grandkids and was known to often yell “I’m King of the World!” with them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Walker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Donna Bolick Herbison; three daughters, Casey Edwards (husband, Joel), Johnna Gauldin, and Brandy McBride; his bonus daughter, Heather Marie Skeen; nine grandchildren, Camryn Kennedy, Layla Kennedy, Amelia Reece Edwards, Grayson Edwards, Jess Edwards, Zachary Gauldin, Jacob Gauldin, Will Beville, and Matthew Beville; one sister, Sheila Martin; one brother, Joey Herbison; and his three “Therapy Dogs”, Blue, Rosie, and Jack.

There will be no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society at 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
