John Johson

Mr. John Emory Johnson, 76, walked into the presence of the lord on October 14th, 2017. Emory was born on November 4th, 1940, to John Frank and Mary Ruth Holland Johnson. Emory owned and operated J.E. Johnson Automotive. Emory was a charter member of Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, where he served in many areas as long as his health permitted. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Hendrix. Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Parthelia (Pat) Johnson; one son, Randy Johnson (Amy); two grandsons, Hunter Johnson and Lane Johnson; and one step-grandson, Josh White (Carleigh), all of which were the joy of his life. Also surviving are one brother, Kent Johnson (Deborah); three sisters-in-law, Brenda Sink, Kathy Motsinger, and Iola Thomas; and one brother-in-law, Jr. Hendrix. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Konnoak Hills United Methodist Church, 430 Weisner St, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, with Pastor Joshua H. Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the church, following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a worthy charity of the donor's choice.
