John Wayne Jones. Age 77 April 12, 1936 - October 27, 2013 John Wayne Jones of Winston-Salem passed away at his home on October 27, 2013. He was born in Rewey, Wisconsin on Easter Sunday, April 12, 1936 to the late Robert Tennyson Jones and Marion Burton Jones. Mr. Jones graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He was a teacher in Wisconsin for 10 years. After leaving the teaching profession, he was instrumental in founding the Wisconsin Education Association Insurance Trust. Upon moving to North Carolina, he became President and CEO of PARTNERS National Health Plans of North Carolina. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Lori Jean Jones. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Christine of Winston-Salem, NC; five children, Janice L. Jones of Clearwater, FL, Julie Stewart and husband Scott of Clemmons, NC, Cheryl Riley and husband Pat of Colleyville, TX, James Jones and wife Elizabeth of Haymarket, VA, Philip Jones and wife Greta of Germanton, NC; and 11 grandchildren, Christin, Jordan, Robert, Hannah, Luke, Sean, Logan, Rhys, Carys, Megyn, and Braeden; and brothers, Robert Jones and wife Arlene, and Roger Jones and wife Judy. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Chapel of Hayworth- Miller, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller. Burial will be at Bryn Zion Cemetery near Rewey, Wisconsin.
