John Kilby, Jr.

Mr. John “Junior” Kilby, Jr., 54, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. He was born in Forsyth County on December 15, 1964 to John Kilby, Sr. and Dot Kennedy Leonard. John was a long-time member of Grapevine Baptist Church. He was an inspiration to everyone he met. John loved to smile. He never met a stranger and he was always the life of the party. John was an excellent father to his children and he was always devoted to his family. He will be truly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kilby, Sr. Surviving are his mother, Dot Leonard and husband, Danny; children, Jennifer Freeman, Tanner Kilby, Douglas Kilby, Zachary Kilby, and Sydnee Kilby; brothers, Tim Kilby and Scott Kilby; step-mother, Susan Kilby; six grandchildren; and best friend, Mike Alderman, who remained loyal to John through everything. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Grapevine Baptist Church with Preacher Ronnie Comer officiating.
