John Morgan, Sr.

Mr. John Philip Morgan, Sr., 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born in Moore County, North Carolina on February 22, 1937 to Benjamin Cleveland Morgan and Mary “Mamie” Smith Morgan. Philip loved his job as a truck driver. He enjoyed photography, nature, and animals. Philip made many friends and he always knew someone anywhere he went. He loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, B.C. Morgan (Ada), Doris Lingle, Virginia McInnis (Ralph), Lois Allred (Louis), Edward Morgan, Albert Morgan, and Mary Olive Kennedy. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Morgan; sons, John Morgan, Jr. and David Morgan (Glemour); grandson, Nalu Morgan; two special nieces that stayed with him during his illness, Mary Ann Mayberry and Judy Seaver and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Beulah Baptist Church in Bennett, North Carolina with Dr. Neal Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
