John Parker

Mr. John Henry Parker, 80, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on September 8, 1936 in Koennishberg, Germany to Max and Lona Adelsohn Parker. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Brenda Parker; one brother, Sieg Parker; two sisters, Inge Lawson and Margo Dotson. John was active in the U.S. Army for three years and traveled to many places. Following his discharge from the Army he traveled around many states before settling in North Carolina. He loved animals, especially his Shih Tzus, Pebbles and Bam Bam. He was a loving and caring man. Surviving are three daughters, Ginger Martin and husband Tim, Candice Williams and husband Virgil, Leigh Hill and wife Kate Chapman; one son, Ty Parker and wife Robin; seven grandchildren, Austin and Kristin Martin, Skyler Plouffe, Dustin and Zachary Hill, Tyler Parker and wife Bridgett, Mackenzie Parker; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rabbi Mark Cohn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's honor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or to Brenner's Children's Hospital, www.brennerchildrens.org, or to the ASPCA, www.aspca.org.
