John Alan Parsons

KERNERSVILLE- John Alan Parsons, 65, died Thursday, February 20, 2014. He was born June 1, 1948 in Washington, DC to the late John Quincy and Blanche Hester Parsons.

He was a graduate of East Forsyth High School and Western Carolina University. John was owner and operator of Parsons Sawmill in Walnut Cove and later was employed with Watts Realty.

Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Colbert Parsons of the home; one son, Tommy Parsons and wife, Stephanie of Winston Salem; one daughter, Audrey DiFilippo and husband, David of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Isabel Parsons, and Ariana DiFilippo; two step-children, Valerie Tilley and Jonathan Barton both of Thomasville; one sister, Susan Mabe and husband, Keith of Kernersville; and one brother, Mike Parsons and wife, Heidi of Woodway, TX.


A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. February 22, 2014 prior to the service at the funeral home.
