John Edwin Passmore, 82, he entered the more immediate presence of the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2024, at his home. He was born in Newburgh, NY on September 30, 1941, to the late Edwin and Elizabeth Bewick Passmore. Mr. Passmore served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and received the Bronze Star. He attended Bucknell University where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity and later transferred to Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where he graduated. He was an avid golfer, was past president of Marvin Millwork and was a member of Fairview Moravian Church. Mr. Passmore was also a part of several networking groups. He was member of Lewisville Connections, Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, BNI, Davie County Chamber of Commerce, PBC, and just recently became a board member with House of Hope. Mr. Passmore was employed at Edge Home Finance and owned, J.P. Mortgage Consultants. Preceding him in death along with his parents is his first wife, Carolyn Ann Ruthinoski Passmore and an infant brother, Robert Passmore. Surviving are his wife, Beth Faircloth Passmore; son, John Robert “Jay” Passmore (Jennifer); daughter, Kathleen Passmore Chenoweth (J. Christopher), son, David Charles Passmore (Kristy); step-daughter, Erin Wallen (Steven); step-son, Matthew Angel (Debbie); nine grandchildren, Megan Chenoweth, Paige Chenoweth, J.R. Passmore, Trevor Passmore, Cole Passmore, Sarah Angel, Charley Wallen, Charlotte Angel, Barrett Wallen; cousin, Paul Lozier (Jan); also surviving are a brother-in-law, Robert Ruthinoski and a sister-in-law, Nancy F. Doub. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Fairview Moravian Church with Rev. Tony Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will follow the service at Salem Moravian Graveyard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Triad Honor Flight, C/O Alison Huber, PO Box 8606 Greensboro, NC 27419 or to Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
