John Henry Sealey

John Henry Sealey, 80, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, January 18, 2014. John was born October 7, 1933 to Dannie Sealey and Bertha Webster Sealey in Dillon, SC. After graduating from Mineral Springs High School, he served his country in the Army, attaining the rank of Sargent in the 101st Airborne Division. John retired from RJR with 33 years of service. He attended Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. John took pride in his garden. He loved the beach and enjoyed fishing trips with his sons. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Ira, Gordon, Norwood, James Monroe, Frank and Allen Sealey; sisters, Grace McKinnish, Gladys Henley; and a beloved grandson, Jordan Sealey. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Lisa R. Sealey; children, Nita Boehm (Bryan), Tony Sealey (Lisa); John Sealey (Kelly); 7 grandchildren; sister, Dottie Browder (Grady); brother, Milton Sealey (Bobbie); and a special sister-in-law, Fran Sealey. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Friar Bill Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 1730 Link Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
