John Vanhoy, Jr.

Mr. John Benjamin Vanhoy, Jr., 78, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019.  He was born in Forsyth County on September 22, 1940 to the late John Benjamin Vanhoy, Sr. and Maude Irene McGee Vanhoy.  Mr. Vanhoy was a member of the Teamsters Local 391.  He loved old westerns and was a devoted family man.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Vanhoy was preceded in death by one brother.  He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Watts Vanhoy; two daughters, Denise V. Carico (Craig) and Sherry V. Jones (Joey); one son, John Brent Vanhoy (Michelle); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Crestview Memorial Park with Mr. Craig Carico officiating.  There will be no formal visitation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  (Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall)
