John Carl Windsor, Jr.

Mr. John Carl ""J.C."" Windsor, Jr. passed away peacefully on September 18, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. J.C. was born in Yadkin County on November 3, 1928 to Mattie Bell Windsor and John Carl Windsor, Sr. He was a lifelong Carolina fan and a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Macedonia Sunday School Class. He volunteered with Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina (Mills Home Campus) and enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, and bird watching. He loved spending time with his family and was particularly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A devout Christian, he dedicated his time to helping those in need and his life's work will continue through his children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren, Meredith and Terry Barbee; one sister, Hazel Windsor; and three brothers, Turner ""A.T."" Windsor, Harold Windsor, and Terry Windsor. Surviving are his loving wife, Marie Windsor; one daughter, Vivian Barbee (husband Gary); one son, Tim Windsor (wife Tammy); four grandchildren, Daniel Windsor (wife Raquel), Matthew Windsor, Elizabeth Windsor, and Jason Collins (wife Brandi); six great-grandchildren, Amelia Windsor, Madison Windsor, Lincoln Windsor, Dustyn Collins, Haleigh Collins, and Jaxon Collins; one nephew, Alvin Windsor; one niece, Amy Graham; one god-son, Ryan Everhart; and one sister-in-law, Georgia Windsor. A funeral will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina (Mills Home Campus), 204 Idol St, Thomasville, NC 27360.
