Johnsie Mae Landreth Berrier went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and to be reunited with her son Tim on October 22, 2013. Johnsie was born to John and Edna Landreth on January 1, 1933, the youngest of three daughters. She graduated from Griffith High School in 1951 and lived all of her life in Winston-Salem. On June 6, 1954 she married the love of her life, James Clifton Berrier. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage together. Johnsie was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church and was active in the Willing Workers Class and the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Johnsie was preceded in death by her son, Tim; sisters, Ruth Bell and Helen Landreth. Left to cherish Johnsie's memories are her husband, James Clifton Berrier; daughter, Suzanne (Steve) Breedlove; grandchildren, Courtney (Jonathan) Jones, Sara (Josh) Wood, Wesley Gentle, Richard (Catherine) Breedlove and Michael Breedlove; five beloved great grandchildren, Katelyn, Claire and Kensi Jones, Logan and Charleigh Mae Wood; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Johnsie's life will be Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Doug Miller at Canaan United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canaan United Methodist Women, 1760 Shady Grove Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or Hospice of Winston-Salem. The family wishes to express their appreciation to all of the staff at Hospice House and Hospice Home Health Care of Winston-Salem. The care and concern bestowed to her was great and much appreciated. A special thanks to Lainey for her exceptional care.
