Johnsie Cook

Mrs. Johnsie Kay McGee Cook, 73, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at her home. She was born in Forsyth County, November 7, 1944 to the late Eb and Grace McGee. Johnsie was very family oriented, both at home and at church. She was a lifelong member of Providence Moravian and worked in the cafeteria for WSFCS where she retired. In addition to her parents Johnsie is preceded in death her brother, Gene McGee. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Wayne Cook; her son, Daryl Cook (Gwen); her daughter, Kim Miller (David); six grandchildren: Ben Miller (Liz), Andrew Miller (Holly), Alex Miller, Maggie Miller, Mechim Cook and Grayson Cook and four great-grandchildren: Charlotte Miller, Pax Miller, Lili Miller, and Liam Miller. A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Providence Moravian with Rev Robert M. Peek Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Providence Moravian Church, 929 Old Hollow Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
