Jonathan Paul Newsome, age 46 died Friday, December 5, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after declining health. In addition to his father, Thomas Newsome Paul was preceded in death by two brothers; David and Mike Newsome. He is survived by his mother, Sara Anderson of Rural Hall. Two sisters; Beth Newsome and husband David McKnight of Durham. Carol Newsome and their shared friend Dick Stephens both of Greensboro. One niece, Sophie McKnight of Durham. Paul also leaves behind his much loved cats and his Andy dog. Paul was part of a large and loving family and community.
Paul attended four years of college at the University of Miami at Coral Gables where he studied film and mischief making. He was known as Jon by his college friends and associates. After college Paul /Jon returned to Rural Hall and worked at Coronet Seafood Restaurant owned by the Kontos family. He had two jobs during his life, the restaurant and at the University of Miami. The Kontos Brothers were more than employers, they became friends and extended family. Paul cared deeply for the Brothers and their families.
There will be a Celebration of Paul's life and our love for him on Sunday, December 14, 2014. The family invites anyone to stop by the home of Iris White from 1:00 P.M. until. This Celebration will last as long as people wish to stop by at their conveniences. Please contact a family member for directions to Iris's home.
