Joseph "Tom" Crews

Mr. Joseph Charles ""Tom"" Crews, Sr., 82, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Friday, October 7, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 5, 1934 in Forsyth County to the late Minnie S. Crews and Charles A. Crews. Tom loved racing, tinkering in his garage, all of his many animals, and especially his family. Mr. Crews is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi Crews; five children: Donna Gibbons, Vicki Crews, Sheila York (David), Tommie Smith (Jim), and Joseph Crews, Jr., a sister, Elsie Moss, and a brother, Robert Crews. He was ""Popene"" to 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with Pastor T. Welch officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 10, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
