Joseph Richard Holder

Mr. Joseph Richard Holder, 82, passed away October 9, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 18, 1934 in Forsyth County. Mr. Holder was employed with Hanes Hosiery for 22 years and subsequently retired from Miller Brewing Company in Eden with 17 years of service. Mr. Holder served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavanda H. Holder in 2011 and a brother and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Calcutt; a son, Richard A. Holder, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Neal. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Kevin L. Kilbreth officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
