Josephine Marie "Jo" Martin

Mrs. Josephine Marie “Jo” Martin, age 84, of Mocksville, passed away peacefully into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 24, 2026, while under hospice care at Mocksville Senior Living. She was born January 10, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Mildred Marie Cline Constable and James Wesley Constable, Sr.

Jo was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of Blaise Baptist Church for over 50 years. In addition to her parents Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James R. Martin and her oldest daughter, Teresa Jenkins.

She is survived by one sister, Darlene Sheets (Keith) and one brother, James W. Constable, Jr. ;three children, Charlene Dunn (Tracy), Tonya Martin, and Robert Martin (Nadine); seven grandchildren, Sandy, Christopher (Tressie), Melia, Chase, Krista, Julian, and Ethan; seven great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gabriel, Jessica, Jaxon, Syler, Zeke, Bristol and Danger.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Mocksville Senior Living as well as Mountain Valley Hospice for the care, love, and support shown to Jo in her final days.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Blaise Baptist Church in Mocksville. The service will take place in the Old Sanctuary. Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel is assisting the family.
