Josie Faye Lancaster Fansler

Mrs. Josie Faye Fansler, 86, went to be with the Lord, December 7, 2025. She was born May 20,1939 in Forsyth County to the late Wade Thornton Lancaster and Helen Estelle Evans Lancaster. Josie was a longtime faithful member of Woodland Baptist church and was loved by all who knew her. She loved fishing and watching old westerns. Her favorite of all was cooking. She loved to feed the family and watch them enjoy the recipes of her choosing. Josie and Wayne were faithful for ten years to keeping the church clean and that was a job they enjoyed. Most importantly, she loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Fansler Preston. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wayne Fansler; one son, Jeff Fansler; one brother, Richard Lancaster (Jeanie); three grands, Brian Preston (Mandy), Mitchell Preston (Margaret), and Brett Preston; three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Gwen, and Bobby Preston, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a funeral service conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Woodland Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
