Joyce Ann Butner

Ms. Joyce Ann Butner, age 84 of Advance, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 16, 1942 in Davie county to the late Kenneth Miller Butner, Sr. and Helen Jones Butner.

Joyce’s interests included art and crafts. She painted many pictures and enjoyed making and selling crafts. She also enjoyed spending time with family – especially the nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carol Fayedene Butner and Jeanette Smith, a niece, Allyson McCachern and a nephew, Brad Butner. Surviving are her sister, Libby Cope (Kent); one brother, Kenneth M. Butner, Jr. (Janice) and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2026 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Pastor David Jackson. Burial will follow at Macedonia Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln.
