Joyce Ellen D'Amico

Mrs. Joyce Ellen Malafarina D’Amico, 75, of Clemmons, NC, graced the presence of Jesus Christ on August 10, 2024, after a long courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born on August 2, 1949, in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Mr. Joseph Malafarina and Mrs. Mary Mae McDonald Malafarina. Joyce was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed Zumba, baking, and traveling, especially to the beach. In her free time, she volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 51 years, Mario D’Amico; a son, Neil D’Amico and fiancé Giovanna Palacios; a sister, Gloria Pirrera; and several nieces & nephews. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00am, Friday, August 16, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father James Stuhrenberg officiating. There will be an hour prior visitation held at the church. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the staff at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and especially to Dr. Baird Powell for all the care giving to Joyce during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Mrs. D’Amico to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
