Juanita Fortner Disher

Dorothy Juanita Disher passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Juanita was born November 7, 1947 to the late Paul and Mary Fortner. She is survived by her loving family, Robert ""Bob"" Disher, husband; Robbie and Alla Disher, son and daughter-in-law; Kim Davis, daughter. Also surviving are the pride and joy of her life, five grandchildren, Robert Carver Davis, Ruby-Jean Taylor Davis, Alexandra ""Sasha"" Jean Disher, Nolan Ruth Disher and Ava Hope Disher; Jean and Jim Wilson, sister and brother-in-law, Rev. Don and Shelby Fortner, brother and sister-in-law and Patty and Ken Parrish, sister and brother-in-law and nieces and nephews that loved their ""Aunt Nita"". Juanita shared her talents and sweet spirit with her cherished friends at the Sawtooth School for Visual Art and enjoyed making bowls for the Empty Bowl lunch each year. Their friendships and the friendships she shared at West Forsyth High School were a blessing to her. Thank you for the many calls, visits, cards, flowers and acts of kindness, we love you for loving her. The family will greet her dear friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Following the visitation a Memorial Service will be held at Noon by Rev. Don Fortner and burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sawtooth School for Visual Art, 251 N. Spruce St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
