Mrs. Juanita Smith Walker, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 20, 2014. She was born in Randolph County on June 17, 1925 to the late Kemp and Lou Alta Cox Smith. Mrs. Walker was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. She was an avid shopper and was always caring for her family. Mrs. Walker was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Malcom ""Pete"" Walker and a son, Peter Walker. Surviving is a son, Michael Walker of Colfax, CA; daughter, Julie Vogler (Robert) of Lewisville; 8 grandchildren, Derrick Walker, Preston Walker (Tracy), Luke Walker, Clay Walker (Karen), Sadie LoGrasso (Jeremy), Leigh Vogler, Robert Vogler, and Janna Vogler; 4 great-grandchildren; also surviving is a sister, Roberta Eckard of Orlando, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Reidlawn Cemetery in Reidsville, NC with Pastor Monroe Otto officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 4840 Old US Hwy 421 E. Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Clare Bridge of Winston-Salem, 275 S. Peace Haven Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
