Mrs. Juanita Brooks Winebarger, 88, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Stokes Co. on February 15, 1925 the daughter of the late John D. Brooks and Ethel Ferguson Brooks. Mrs. Winebarger was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Randall W. Winebarger, a daughter, Patricia Winebarger Wood, her son-in-law, Douglas A. Smith, Sr., a brother, Granville ""Bud"" Brooks and a sister, Mary Jane Bowen. Mrs. Winebarger is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Harvey and special son-in-law, Boyd of Germanton and Linda Smith of Wilson, six grandchildren, Doug Smith (Jamie), Kimberly Smith Stallings (Jonathan), Jeff Wood, Scott Smith, Andy Wood and Jason Harvey and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with The Reverend Doctor Jason W. Harvey and The Reverend Fred Moretz officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in Mrs. Winebarger's name. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Novant Health, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and the staff of Priddy Manor in King for the wonderful care that was shown in her time of need.
