Mr. Jud Manuel Icenhower passed away Monday afternoon at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Macon County on March 29, 1936 to the late William Jud and Emma Lakey Icenhower. Jud was a charter member of Griffith Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was married to Marie Gambill in 1955. Jud worked in dairy sales for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and fishing. Jud was preceded in death by two brothers J. L. Icenhower and Clarence Icenhower; three sisters Helen Clark, Lucille Ivester, and Floy Jean McGraw; and in 2001, a special daughter Janice Fay Phlegar. Jud is survived by his loving wife Marie Gambill Icenhower; three sons Steven Icenhower and wife Susan, Mark Icenhower and wife Sheree, and Joel Icenhower and wife Marty; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Griffith Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday February 3, at Hayworth-Miller funeral home on Silas Creek Parkway. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffith Baptist Church, 1987 Old Salisbury Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
