Judy Ann Byrd

A very special and precious angel, Judy Ann Byrd, 71, was received in heaven peacefully on Monday, December, 22, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on September 3, 1943 in Stokes County to James ""Jim"" Albert Byrd and Thelma ""Sam"" White Byrd. Mrs. Byrd retired from Stokes County School Food Services after 28 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church in King. Her church family held special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Slater and husband Terry of Walkertown, Karen Johnson and husband Steve of Winston-Salem; special grandson and apple of her eye, Noah Kelly Johnson; very special sister, Jan McKinney and husband Carlton of King; special nephew, Cameron McKinney and wife Lisa; great-nephew Brycen McKinney; special sister-in-law, Barbara Vanhoy and husband J.B.; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday at First Christian Church of King with Ministers, Glenn Van Meter and Peter Cain officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First Christian Church of King, 625 Meadowbrook Drive, King, NC 27021.
